Eve Hoyt began her neon journey in the late 1980s when she attended neon school, followed by several years working in the sign industry. Bored with making signs but in love with the medium of neon, she set up her own studio, Evening Neon, where she was free to explore the possibilities of using it as an art form. Experimenting with various glass working techniques, she began to focus on making art with neon. Creating pieces that are colorful, abstract, and whimsical, her work has been shown in galleries throughout the country since 2001 and has won several awards. She incorporates vintage found objects into many of her neon pieces and is a member of the Philadelphia Dumpster Divers, a group of artists using recycled and discarded items in their artwork.
